Why visit Luhačovic

Luhačovice is a pearl among Czech spa towns. Thanks to its calm and realsed atmosphere, it is enchanting in every season. People come here mainly for the power of the local natural spings. In the area of Luhačovice, a total of 16 hydro – carbon – chloride – sodium springs and one sulphurous spring flow from the ground, the most famous of which carries the name , Vincentka. Every hour, a total of 15 thousand litres of warm mineral water at a temperature of between 10 to 12 degrees Celsius comes to the earth´s surface, containing copious amounts of dissloved minerals (sodium, calcium, magnesium, chlorine, bromine, iodine, carbonic acid and dissloved carbon dioxide). Spas are not the only things that Luhačovice has to offer. The town is surrounded by the most beautiful countryside, ideal fo hiking. Luhačovice is surrounded by steep, wooded hills. Although the town lies at an elevation of 250 metres above sea level and the surrounding hilltops are only 500 metres hight, there is a definite sub-alpine feeling here. Three kilometres upstream along the river Šťávnice, a dammed reserviois was built in the 1920s. Its primary role was to stem regular flooding which would ravage the spa town. In time, however, it gained a recreational function.

Luhačovice is well-known for its architecture toon, mainly for building by the architect, Dušan Jurkovič, which are famour even outside our country. A great number of cafés, wine bars, restaurants and cake shops can be found in the town. The must cater for the several tens of thousands of visitors who come to the town every year. Luhačovice is not only visited for the cures, but it also has much to offer to people who love tourism, sports or social events.

Luhačovice has a long tradition of treatment of air passage, digestive system, diabetic and musculoskeletal illnesses by taking the waters. It is famous not only for its nautral healing springs, but also for its mild climatic conditions and pleasand surroundings where beautiful nature and typical architecture come together.
